Does Home Staging Really Help Sell Your House?
Let's think about this for a second, How does staging really help sell your house? There's lots of reasons why I recommend it to anyone selling their home. Statistics show that staged houses sell faster and for more money than un-staged ones. If you're selling your home consider these these facts and ideas and you will sell your home way sooner.
Let's look at some numbers before we look at tips on how to stage your house so we can all understand how it saves you money in the long run. On average it takes:
263 days – 9 months to sell your house unstaged
60 - 90 days to sell your house staged
So for an $1800 mortgage, monthly expenses $300, your total carrying costs per month would be $2100 X 7 months less on the market you would save $14 700!!
Now that we have crunched the numbers and you're thinking about where to begin. Here are a few ideas that will definitely get your home sold:
1. Stage Your House To Sell And Not To Dwell.
We all get attached to all the stuff in our homes but when selling you want to "de-personalize" the house so that the potential buyers can see themselves living there and not you. Declutter, get excess furniture and all your personal belongings moved away from the home. Paint all the walls a neutral color and repair everything that is broken in and around the house.
2. Don't Leave It Empty
Many buyers cannot envision the potential of a house so don't leave it empty, set it up for them and take the buyers guess work out.
3. Stand Out From The Rest
A staged house is perceived as well maintained and move in ready. Also take advantage of the staged home and take good pictures that will definitely make your listing look better and stand out from the competition
Still not sure about staging? Think about this:
If your home stays on the market,
Stage it and Sell it!
