"It's the most wonderful time of the year" Oh how I love Christmas, everything from finding those special gifts, to Christmas parties, exchanging gifts, hosting and spending time with friends & family, donating to those in need and of course making my home cozy and pretty for the season.
As much as I love the season it can also be overwhelming, as parents we all juggle so much and I have learnt to be practical and resourceful by using what I already have at home, mixing accents so that they are both functional and user friendly. Instead of replacing everyday pieces why not incorporate it into your christmas decor. I love decor so much I had to find ways to make it all work. See below 5 of my favorite ways you can use everyday pieces to decorate and still have them functional to avoid clutter and chaos.
Apothecary Jars: These are awesome examples of what you could do with these jars for the holidays. Use these to store all your christmas goodies, candy, baked goodies. Also you could fill them with tinsel, decorative balls or light them up with strands of lights and add some pine cones and some decorative balls and you have a festive centrepiece.
Baskets: We all have baskets around the house. One of my favorite ways to use baskets during Christmas time is to store throw pillows and blankets for those cold evenings when you want to cozy up next to the fireplace with your family and watch the lovely christmas movies.
Use baskets for firewood, books or magazines, for those cracking fireside nights.
Don't those hanging baskets look lovely with lights and icicles?
When trimming your trees for the winter make use of those branches for your Christmas decor both inside and out. I cut these from two evergreens and loved how the two shades go together an they lasted the whole season.
Tiered Trays: There is so much you can do with these for the holidays. You can layer then add some greenery and a few ornaments and you're done.
Get those lanterns out. Grouped lanterns with candles always create a magical moment and are perfect for the season!
For a pop of color add some cherries and greenery and place your candle on top
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas !!!
